The Parliamentary Environmental Audit Committee’s report suggests that the country is ill-prepared for the predicted increased frequency and intensity of heatwaves, that this is not being given necessary attention by national or local government, and that budget cuts to programmes that support local authorities to tackle climate change need reversing.
