Would you like to help local government explore and develop current policy?
We are looking for additional associates to write occasional briefings for us. The issues in particular we would like new writers to cover are planning, regulation such as environmental health, the economy, procurement, trade unions and the workforce, technology and digital government and democracy (especially around scrutiny).
We are committed to publishing briefings on brexit and local government and would welcome writers with some expertise in the key areas that will arise over the next year or so.
Writers work for us on a freelance basis as associates.
Associates should generally have a good understanding of how local government works.
We are also interested in associates who have had experience of working in central government departments, particularly DCLG, but other departments would be considered.
LGiU is now composed of three LGiU offices based in England, Scotland and Ireland. We are increasingly working across the three countries. Associates familiar with Ireland or Scotland would be helpful and writers who could write on local government experiences and evidence globally.
Associates will need to show they have excellent writing skills.
If you have any questions please email email@example.com. We will be happy to provide some sample briefings and further information about the rates paid for briefings on request. Why not look at our briefings page to see what we cover (only members can access full briefings).
Please send a CV and covering letter to firstname.lastname@example.org explaining which areas you could cover and your experience of working in or with local government and/or central government.
Closing date for applications is 2 October 2017
