Innovation. Influence. Information.
Our learning and development programme offers a wide choice of programmes. Following the local elections it is essential that new councillors hit the ground running and are able to adapt to their new role and increased workload. Time Management and Coping Skills for Busy Councillors is an programme of essential skills that will help them with the transition (and would be a useful refresher course for existing Members). Click here for a sample programme.
The LGiU has wide experience in delivering training to both councillors and officers. We can bring that experience to you and provide in-house training for one local authority or a small number of neighbouring councils.
Our inhouse training prices are very competitive and for many councils this is a cost effective way of enabling many more councillors and employees to benefit from learning and development opportunities than if they were to send delegates to workshops and seminars.
Click here to download our full list of learning and development programmes. Each of these programmes can be delivered in sessions of between two and three hours, or in many cases, elements of the programmes can be combined to deliver a more bespoke training package.
This list represents a selection of some of our most popular programmes. To discuss your council’s particular requirements and to find out more about our very competitive prices, please contact the LGiU’s learning and development manager:
