Innovation. Influence. Information.
You are invited to join LGiU and Governance International for the launch of our new book, Making Health and Social Care Personal and Local. This book is a collection of essays from leading thinkers, which explores co-production in health and social care from different perspectives, giving a glimpse into the future of the field.
The launch brings together authors who have contributed to the book for a short session to share insights and good practice and give the opportunity for questions and discussion on this vital area of public policy.
About the Book
Powerful forces are coming together to fundamentally change how public services are provided in the UK, and public service providers know that they must find significant savings in social care whilst shaping a positive future for individuals and communities.
In the UK there is much talk of different approaches to the delivery of health and social care, and these models all assume the need for a new relationship between citizens and the state – with an emphasis on co-production, so that service users should have a greater role in shaping their own services.
This timely book explores co-production from different perspectives, including from local authority leaders, health and social care practitioners, academics and leading experts. Through commentary and case studies, these essays give us a glimpse into the future, with the challenges and opportunities.
The book is edited by LGiU and Governance International.
Copies of the book will be available at the launch, and you can download a version here.
