Councillors take a significant role in their communities – they are local leaders who connect people, facilitate opportunities for involvement and make things happen in their patch. We think councillors can play a vital role in making communities thrive, but their volunteer role is often undervalued and not always appreciated.

The C’llr Achievement Awards aim to recognise and reward those councillors who go over and above what is expected of them; councillors who show absolute dedication to their communities and make positive change happen to the lives of people in them.

The C’llr Awards open annually in late-October and are awarded in late-February. There are 11 categories, which include; Community Champion, Leader of the Year and Young C’llr of the Year. Of particular interest will be the Bruce-Lockhart Member Scholarship, which comes with a £10,000 bursary and is supported by Kent, Essex and East Sussex Councils.

This project is supported by CCLA
