October’s ministerial reshuffle means a new line-up for DCLG.

Mark Prisk MP has been removed as Minister of State for Housing and the Rt Hon Don Foster MP leaves his post as the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government to become the Liberal Democrats’ Chief Whip.

Stephen Williams, MP for Bristol West, will replace Don Foster and former Bradford MBC leader, Kris Hopkins MP will take on the role as the new Housing Minister.

However, Kris Hopkins MP will only be a Parliamentary Under Secretary of State rather than a Minister of State – prompting concern from some as the MJ (£) notes.

Baroness Stowell of Beeston, formerly the Conservative Party’s Chief Whip in the House of Lords, replaces Baroness Hanham CBE as Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government.

Both Brandon Lewis MP and Nick Boles MP remain in post.
