2013 Local Election Results

LGiU Local Election Update

  • More councils have gone to NOC than might have been expected, with Cambridgeshire, East Sussex, Gloucestershire, the Isle of Wight, Lancashire, Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Oxfordshire and Warwickshire all moving from Conservative control to NOC so far.
  • UKIP has been successful in converting their vote share into seats.
  • Labour is not going to take Staffordshire and Lancashire, but have taken control of Midland stronghold Derbyshire.

For some further comment and analysis, please see reflections from Dr Jonathan Carr-West and our guest panel.
